Online Therapy for Couples and Teens in California

ANYA GALLARDO, AMFT

Support for multiracial, multicultural, and interfaith relationships, religious trauma, immigration, and big life transitions.

I know what it's like to need support, and I know how hard it can be to ask for it. Whether you're wading through anxiety, depression, grief and loss, uncertainty, change, or any other challenge, asking for help can feel uncomfy, and you don't have to have it all figured out before we start. I am here for you and would love to help you lighten your load. I provide an engaging, warm, and sometimes humorous space, online from anywhere in California, to unpack and explore what you're going through. My approach to therapy is eclectic because therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process, and our work together will reflect that. My therapeutic foundation is in existentialism, family systems, and relational gestalt; I love talking about the big questions of life, but I want to focus on you here and now. I firmly believe that you are the expert of your own story, and through a relationship of honest dialogue, care, and mutual respect, I hope to support your growth and healing. My goal is to make you feel heard. I am happy to help you work through whatever it may be that you're facing. With that said, I particularly enjoy working with young folks (teens 12+) and couples navigating multiracial and multicultural identity, interracial and interfaith relationships, religious trauma, immigration, and big life transitions. I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist who strongly believes that the personal is political. In healing ourselves, we heal our communities, too. A little about me: My path to this career has been a winding one. In my previous lives, I worked as an English teacher and, more recently, on the people side of tech. I grew up in the San Gabriel Valley of LA and, after spending the majority of my 20s living in different countries, I am happy to be home and of service to my community. I identify as biracial and am familiar with the complexities, joys, and challenges of multicultural (and multi-religious) relationships and families. I also have experience with immigration journeys and feel passionate about supporting people through that often lifelong transition. In my free time, I love learning languages, reading, baking (and eating) bread, and trying new crafts.

Yes, a limited number of spots. Ask during your free consultation.

How does therapy work for teens?

Teens have their own confidential space, and parents are involved in ways that support the teen. We'll talk through how that works at the start.
